Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania (Arundel News Network) – Today marked the day whether Phil would predict whether we were going to have 6 more weeks of winter or an early spring.
This morning Phil did not see his shadow. This is only the ninetieth time out of 123 on record that Phil has not seen his shadow. Phil’s accuracy has only been about 39%.
The conditions in Punxsutawney in Pennsylvania were 10 degrees and clear skies. Our own Steve Dye finds this to be suspicious and believes that we will have 6 more weeks of winter.
The tradition started in Europe and it was called Candlemas Day. German immigrants who moved to Pennsylvania in the 1700s brought the tradition to America.
