Firefighters to Conduct Smoke Alarm Canvass in area of Fatal Dwelling Fire

Millersville, Maryland (Arundel News Network) – Per a Press Release from this afternoon the Anne Arundel County Fire Department and American Red Cross Volunteers will canvass homes in the area of the 400 block of Wellham Avenue in Glen Burnie on Saturday Februrary 9 starting at 10:00 a.m. Per the Press Release “The canvass follows a fire at a home on January 30 that claimed the life of a 37-year-old man. He was the county’s first fatality in 2019.”

The Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit determined that there were no working smoke alarms in the home prior to the fire.
