Baltimore, Maryland (Arundel News Network) The Baltimore Ravens on Friday waived Alex Collins after he was arrested following a car accident one mile away from the team’s facility.
Collins was arrested Friday morning after a car accident on Dolfield Road just minutes away from their team’s facility. During the investigation of the incident police detected an odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. Further investigation resulted in the finding of approximately five ounces of marijuana in a glass jar. A handgun was also found in the vehicle.
Collins was released on a $7,500 bond just after midnight on Friday night. He was formally charged with the following charges
- CDS Possession with intent to distribute
- Possession of marijuana in excess of 10 games
- Possession of a handgun in a vehicle
According the report Collins he was on his way to drop a friend at home when he lost control of his vehicle on a roadway that was snow covered. He slid off of the pavement and into a tree. He stated he called for a tow truck but fell a sleep.
