Crimes against Commercial Businesses

Milleresville, Maryland (Arundel News Network) – The Anne Arundel County Police responded to calls to two local businesses over the last 24 hours.

On March 7 at approximately 1:55 p.m. officers responded to an armed robbery at Franklin’s Toys located at 2327 Forest Drive in Annapolis. An unknown male suspect entered the business and displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the register. The employee complied and the suspect fled the store.

Officers searched the area however they were unable to locate the suspect. The store was unoccupied at the time of the robbery with the exception of the store employees and the suspect. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The suspect is identified as a black male in his early 60’s having a beard or unshaven and of average height and wearing wearing dark clothing.

This morning (March 8) at approximately 6:00 a.m. officers in Glen Burnie responded to 7953 Crain Highway at the Walgreens. Upon arrival, officers notified that the glass front door was broken and an ATM located just outside the front door with the cash removed. Detectives were canvassing the area for witnesses and possible video evidence at press time. The store was closed at the time of the incident. Currently there is no suspect description.
