Severn House catches fire

Severn, Maryland (Arundel News Network) – On Friday (March 8) just before 4:50 p.m., fire department units responded to a 9-1-1 call from a neighbor reporting a dwelling fire in the 7900 block of Quarterfield Road in Severn. When firefighters arrived they reported fire coming from the rear of the residence. The fire was brought under control in about 25 minutes by 37 firefighters with additional time required for extensive overhaul of a large amount of store materials and investigation.

The area of origin and the cause are under investigation by the Fire Department.

Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport Fire and Rescue Department also assisted on the scene.
