Renovated House in Brooklyn Park catches fire

Brooklyn Park, Maryland (Arundel News Network) – Just before 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 firefighters responded to the 4100 Block of Ritchie Highway for a reported dwelling fire.

Firefighters responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting smoke and flames coming from the attic of a dwelling in the 4100 block of Richie Highway. Arriving firefighters located and extinguished an attic fire in about 15 minutes in the 1 1/2 story single family dwelling. The home was undergoing major renovations at the time of the fire but was not occupied at the time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but the estimated dollar loss is around $25,000.
