County Fire Department asks for public’s help concerning Fire in Shady Side

Shady Side, Maryland (Arundel News Network) – The Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded tot he 4900 block of Beech Street just before 3:00 p.m. in Shady Side on April 1, 2019 for a dwelling fire.

The 9-1-1 Communication Center received a call from a neighbor reporting the rear of the home was on fire. Firefighters arrived and quickly extinguished an exterior fire on the rear of the home that had extended to the attic. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit. They have also requested that anyone with video or pictures of the fire before the arrival of firefighters to contact them at 410-222-TIPS.

A total of 35 firefighters were brought to the scene. The Price George’s Fire/EMS Department and the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department assisted County Fire Units on scene. The estimated dollar loss from the fire is $10,000 from the structure and $2,000 worth of contents.

The smoke alarm status was undetermined at press time.
